Alex Snyder, MA, RP (Qualifying)

As a therapist, I aim to create a comfortable and safe space for you, free of bias and open to learning and discovery. I place a lot of importance on our therapeutic relationship. By building this relationship, it allows for you to be open to vulnerabilities, sharing and giving input within your own journey.

I work with individuals, families, and couples.

My individual work consists of individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, fertility / pregnancy loss, new moms.

When working with families, I tend to work with communication challenges, conflict resolution and relationship building. Typically, I work with families with older children (12 – 18) or working with siblings/family members who are experiencing conflict and have a desire to rebuild or transform their relationships.

Couples I work with tend to be newly married couples or going to be married. These clients typically are seeking tools that they can use going into this new phase of life. In addition I work with couples who are expecting or working through difficulties surrounding pregnancy or new parenthood. If you have been together for some time and are experiencing issues I can help with communication and conflict.

I work from a client centred approach yet integrating modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialogic Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, Narrative, to name a few. Recognizing as a therapist that the modalities can be overwhelming therapy is not one size fits all model, I work with my clients to find an approach that works for them. When working with me, you can expect for us to explore challenges, values, goals and who you are as an individual.
